Color Rendering or CRI is a measurement of how well a light source depicts or reproduces the actual colors of the objects it is illuminating. The higher the CRI, the better visual perception will be.

CRI is related to Color Temperature in that only sources of the same color temperature can be compared in CRI equivalent. CRI ratings of 65-85 are typical for residential and office environments.   Cool colors work very well for outdoor and commercial applications.

In commercial applications such as retail clothing and other business environments where color accuracy is important, it is recommended to use lamps with CRI ratings of 80+.
